Water-based alodine treatment is a conversion treatment for metals, especially aluminium, which forms a thin protective film on the surface.
It is used as a corrosion barrier and as a pre-treatment to increase paint adhesion without adding much thickness. The reaction in aqueous solutions generates a stable and uniform chromate conversion coating on the substrate.

It is used in the aerospace, automotive and electronics industries and in many industrial applications subject to humidity and aggressive agents.

Typical systems are multi-tank immersion lines with degreasing, rinsing, deoxidation, alodine bath and automated final rinsing.
Spray/tunnel systems with controlled application, rinsing and air or oven drying are also widely used.

Ceever designs and manufactures automated, programmable alodine treatment systems that can be integrated into production management systems (MES).
